Near the Inlet & other poems is a chapbook that documents Pamela Sneed’s experiences on Fire Island and her corresponding research of the island's role in the transatlantic slave trade. Gathering together fragments of historical information about Fire Island with Sneed's artwork and writing, this publication is the first of its kind to shed light on this dark and complex past. The limited-edition chapbook was designed and published by Speciwoman, a 501(c)3 nonprofits arts organization that specializes in programming and publishing for women in the arts.
